  Prologue

  Adel

At this moment I knew I had made the wrong move.

Despite my efforts to stay broken and on the run, he took me in and showed me what a good life was truly like. A life where people cared about you and showed concern.

I melted, wrapping my legs tight around him so he could literally fuck my brains out.

Even though I was no virgin, this was my first time actually making love with someone.

After all I had been through, I left one bad Alpha and found a good one.

Something good was on my side. And I thanked it with all my heart.

Dirk plowed into me, asking me if I was okay every so often.

I couldn't speak, I only moaned and screamed his name loudly to tell him he was doing a terrific job at screwing my brains out.

We kissed as he hammered his cock inside me, hitting my womb and filling me with his juices.

I clenched around him so hard that I felt every small detail of his cock. From the slit, to the ribbed angles, to the veins that laced his cock like a decoration on a cake, I felt it all.

  Chapter One

  Adel

  It was time.

Through all the abuse I've suffered it was time to get away, and I only had this one chance to do it.

He barely let me go into the kitchen, but after all the damage he had done to me over time, he thought he broke me all the way. He thought I was his submissive little bitch now. But I wasn't. I was still the strong Omega I knew I'd be.

I was cooking dinner, a simple beef stew. He wanted me to cook since he told the rest of his staff and chefs to go home early. That usually meant he wanted privacy so he could do whatever with me which usually involved drawing blood and immense pain.

The Alpha that supposedly 'owned me' was named Bartley Forshot. He was a multi-millionaire Alpha that dissed his pack and went on his own. I heard the rest of his pack even lived in poverty while he sat on top his throne, soaking up riches and buying up Omegas to use and abuse. The others before me probably weren’t even alive.

Bartley often fed me, or tried to feed me drugs. Drugs to make me sleep, or weak so I wouldn't run away.

But I managed to save two of the strongest things he had ever given me.

And those two white oblong shaped pills were being crushed and added into that piece of shit's stew.

I took the mortar and pestle and crushed the two sedation pills into a fine powder. Quickly, I added into his beef stew and mixed it around. Barltey would pop his head in every five minutes, so I had it timed.

I wasn't going to return to my solitude and suffering.

  This was my way out.

"Is the dinner ready you fucking moron? You're so fucking slow!" he said, creeping up behind me to grab my ass.

I sucked in through my teeth and kept my cook. The urge to turn around and slice his throat surged through my body.

But then I'd be put in another prison, and there'd be zero chances to escape.

"It's almost ready, Alpha Bartley," I said, turning around to humor the beast. "How about you lie down in bed and I'll come serve it to you on my hands and knees. Does that sound good?" I asked.

He laughed through his jagged teeth and slapped my ass. "Hell yeah, slut."

He slopped away up the stairs to his room. And I reached to the cabinet for his favorite bowl.

As I ladled his soup into the bowl, a smile crept up on my face.

Even though it wasn't time yet, I could feel and taste my freedom. For once in my life I felt what it was like to have joy hop around in your veins.

I was going to play this up real good.

Even though the medicine was strong, so was he. What could knock me out for five hours would probably only knock him out for one.

I had limited time. But the point was that I had time period, and that alone was enough time.

I knew where he stashed cash at around his house, so I was prepared to go and grab it as soon as he was out.

I took his bowl and drink to him upstairs, putting a switch in my step.

He had the double doors to his bedroom open, across the hall was my room, a small cellar where I'd be locked and chained in.

  *Goodbye cellar.*

I got down on my knees once I was at his bedside and he took the bowl of soup.

He took a sip of the soup and I began to countdown. My heart began to race against time. My thoughts started rushing and suddenly things felt so surreal.

I was going to have to keep on the move.

But freedom was well worth the sacrifice.

"Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have let you cook, it's terrible!" he yelled, swinging his fist down at me. He knocked me to the floor, yet I still counted down.

"Alpha Bartley, please allow me to correct--"

He kicked me in the stomach. "No! It's not correct, it's atone you disgusting piece of ass!" He kicked me again and I rolled all the way out of the hallway.

I held my stomach and curled up. Come on, he had to go down soon. Was he immune to the medicine? Was it even going to work?

My back was up against the bars to where I slept.

He held his head and his body swayed.

"Why the fuck am I dizzy?!" he shouted with a hint of slurring. "Did you dr--" then he fell out.

His body crashed onto the floor with a huge thud. Despite the pain radiating through my body, I dragged myself up and ran to where he hid his biggest stash of money.

I stuffed it in my pockets and ran to the front door.

I pulled on it, but it didn't open!

"Damn it," I hissed. He had it locked from the inside as well as the outside.

I looked upstairs and listened to see if he woke up. If he had woken up, there was no way I'd be able to fight him. I did that before and it didn't end so well...

I ran to the back of the house, my head swimming with worry. Somehow I forced my legs to keep moving and the back door was unlocked. There was a high gate that kept the back of his house sealed from the front.

  There was only one option.

And that option was my worst fear.

Water. The back of his mansion boasted beautiful views of a huge river that led to a nearby highway that I could use to get away from him.

Looking behind me, the gravity of what I had to escape cr
ushed down onto me.

  Sacrifice.

Sacrifice your fear for your freedom or die.

I swallowed back my reservations and dove into the water. I was fortunate that there were no jagged rocks to hurt me.

My body kicked into survival mode and I swam away from my past.

It grew smaller and smaller as the waves helped carry me forward. Even nature was in support of me leaving this damn bastard.

The water's waves washed my nervousness and fear away. After this, I doubted that I'd be afraid of water again. Maybe a tick or two. But I'd be willing to try the pool.

I swam over to the closest land I could find that could lead me onto the road.

I saw a shopping district and a place to pull myself out of water.

Freedom. It sparkled ahead of me like a gem.

But it was the wrong direction. Everyone in this town respected Bartley.

So I walked the other way. Spending hours, and hours on the road on my two bare feet.

About two hours later, it got dark, and I came across a gas station.

A few rumbles of thunder rolled above me and so did my stomach. I patted my pockets, and the money was still there, only soaked.

"Fuck, that's not going to do me any good,” I said to myself.

At least I had something to work with, albeit it would take a few hours to dry out if I could find a safe place to let it dry.

What I had right now was more than the cash in my pocket. It was tangible, then it was not. It was both, everything.

Now all I had to do was keep it.

I was now at the city limits of Redgor town, which was Bartley's territory. The rain had begun to come down harder, so I ran over to the gas station and sat under the roof that shielded the gas pumps and the store.

It was empty, and good thing. I already was wondering if Bartley had awoke.

Time was running out, but if I stayed in the rain, I'd get sick, weak, then caught.

A car pulled into the gas station and I thought this would be my chance to get a ride out of here. But an odd scent came from that car, and an uneasiness stabbed at my gut.

I never felt this type of sensation before.

And the scent? It was like the mix of cedar and apple cinnamon. It was a kind scent, but it also had a hint of wolf to it.

The man inside the car locked his eyes on me and I looked away. Even though I wasn't looking at him, I could feel the burn of his eyes as he still inspected me. When he got out of his car, his scent exploded at full throttle.

It was strong, yet gentle. Funny, I didn't know Alphas were able to carry such a scent.

Whatever, I decided to wait for the rain, or at least someone who wasn't an Alpha.

The rain was so thick that you couldn't see.

Great, the last thing I needed was a disturbance in my travel. If the rain didn't go down in a few minutes, I'd have to walk in it, because no movement only meant that Bartley was going to get closer to me.

The Alpha in the car walked over and stared at me the whole time.

"You okay?" he asked, stopping right next to me. Shit, just go into the store and leave me alone. Alphas were only concerned about what they thought they could own.

  "I'm fine."

What a horrible lie. I was sitting under a gas station with soaking wet clothes, a pale thin body, and most likely visible bruises.

  "You're hurt."

  "Yeah, obviously."

I looked up at him and the kindest eyes peered down at me with such great concern.

Maybe that was the endorphins from the rush of escaping Bartley. I knew better than that. Alphas were a big no-no.

He went into the gas station and I breathed a sigh of relief.

When he came back out, he stood next to me silently.

Then he broke the silence with his deep rusty voice. "Do you need a ride?"

  "No."

"Think about that for a second. I'll be pumping my gas. If you want one, catch me before I leave."

He strode over to his car, his walk was confident. Like that of an Alpha. But not just any Alpha, he had the air of an extremely wealthy Alpha.

Maybe a head Alpha himself, which made him ten times more dangerous.

I watched as he pumped gas and flickered his eyes up to meet mine every so often.

The gas station attendant came out with a look of panic on his face.

"Hey, you. I just got a call from the Sheriff's office, they're looking for a runaway Omega," he said. My throat dropped into my stomach and I stood up.

"I won't say anything, but if you stay here any longer, they might just catch you."

He was an older man, an Omega himself, probably had kids too.

I looked over to the Alpha at the gas pump and saw him inch over to his car door.

  He was about to leave.

I grabbed the older Omega's hands and said, "Thank you!"

I scampered over to the Alpha's car and sighed.

"Are you heading out of Redgor?" I asked.

He nodded his head and came over to open the door for me.

Manners didn't mean I was going to give anything up to him. He was just being polite, and that was all it was going to have to be.

When I slid into his car, I noticed it was a luxury brand. The seats were leather too, good thing or else my body would’ve soaked them.

He got in on the other side and turned on his car. I was impressed at the sound of the engine as it roared to life and we sped off.

The frantic beating of my heart slowed down, and I began to regain my composure.

  Progress, more freedom.

The sign signaling we were leaving Redgor passed us and now we were in Gunner town.

“Where are you headed?” he asked. Damn it.

  Chapter Two

  Dirk

I smelled his scent a fucking mile away. He was in distress and I could feel it too.

What was he running from? And who in the actual fuck gave him those bruises?

It had to be another Alpha, going around giving us good Alphas a bad name.

I wanted to pull him in, kiss him, tell him everything was going to be alright. But right now, he was as fragile as a thin piece of glass and I had to remember that.

His scent was that of mango and pears, a juicy fruity mixture that called to my inner beast.

I needed him; he was my mate, I felt it, and I wondered if he did too.

There was an unspoken connection that pulled us together and I planned to keep him around.

But for now, I needed to know exactly what he was doing out her in the rain all beat up.

I held back my anger, it would only frighten him. It wasn't aimed towards him, but still, he was shaken and needed healing.

My mate. I had found him.

Yet, he was broken and sad. But then I'd see this glint, a fiery expression flash across his face.

He wasn't entirely broken, there was hope for him yet.

  Hope for us too.

He just didn't know that yet.

"Where are you going?" This was my second time asking. He didn't want to answer. Or maybe he had no idea where he was going.

We approached a police car passing us on the other side of the road. It was from Redgor, which was odd, they had no jurisdiction here.

My inner wolf growled. The Alpha of Redgor got on my ever fucking nerves, how the hell were we neighbors without waring?

The nervous Omega dipped down in his seat and waited for the car to pass us on the other side.

Luckily my windows were tinted and my brand of car didn't lend itself to being pulled over for nothing. People knew when they saw this red Mercedes to step out of the fucking way.

"Tell me, right now. Are you running from someone?" I asked, chancing a glance or two at the beautiful blond in my car seat.

  "It's none of your business."

I gritted my teeth. He was my mate, in my car, this made everything about him my business.

"Fine. I'll keep driving then a
nd I'll drop you off whereever I stop."

As I drove, he nodded in and out of sleep. Now he was all the way into a deep slumber, snoring lightly. His pheromones let out a relaxed vibe and I knew I had my chance.

I was almost home, and he was in a deep enough sleep for me to keep him right where I had him; by my side.

My pack was asleep and a few of the Alphas that roamed the grounds keeping guard saw me carry the young Omega inside. They didn't ask any questions, but I'd have to say something sooner or later. I didn't like idle gossip behind my back. It was human and shifter nature, but I didn't necessarily like keeping secrets from the pack.

I walked through the dark hallways to my room when I bumped into my little sister, entering her room.

"What are you doing out of your room this late?" I asked her.

She halted and looked over her shoulder. "I was hungry."

I smelled her scent. She was out partying with her friends again.

I trusted Triela to not do anything stupid while she was out with her friends, but she had a curfew to adhere to and it was about eleven o'clock now.

"Triela, we'll talk about this in the morning."

She glanced at the Omega in my arms and shook her head, rolling her eyes.

She went into her room and closed the door without saying goodnight.

"Goodnight to you too," I said, going to my bedroom at the end of the hall. The double doors to my bedroom opened when I approached them and I went straight into the bathroom to take a better look at my mate.

When I brought him into the light, my heart died a thousand deaths.

He was pale, very pale. Malnourished and badly bruised, everywhere. Not just his face, but his torso. I lifted up his shirt and examined his body. He was shivering in his sleep and his ribs were showing.

Despite his trauma and current condition, he was the most beautiful Omega I had ever seen.

Laying him on a water proof bench of mine in the bathroom I took his clothes off and wiped his body down with warm soap and water, then I grabbed some bandages and ointment from the cabinet below my gold and marble sink.

He fidgeted in his sleep and moved around. Now he was entering a nightmare and his breathing had begun to grow rapid.
